Governors
Governors have a secure understanding of their responsibilities. They hold leaders to account and check that improvements made are sustainable and positive. They have accurate knowledge of the school and the experiences of pupils. They use local authority advice effectively, to support leaders to address weaknesses in provision. Ofsted, 2025
The Role of Our Governors
Our Governors play an important role in supporting and shaping the life of our school. Each Governor brings a valuable range of skills, knowledge and experience, helping us to make informed decisions that support the best possible outcomes for our pupils.
While decisions are made collectively by the full Governing Body, all Governors are also members of one of two committees. These committees focus on specific aspects of school life, making the best use of Governors’ individual expertise and ensuring that key areas are given careful consideration. Recommendations from the committees are then brought to the full Governing Body for approval or further discussion.
Our Governors are also actively involved in school life. During our Governor Visit Weeks, Governors regularly visit the school to see learning and school life in action. These visits give them a clear and first-hand understanding of the exciting things happening across our school, as well as the opportunities and experiences our pupils enjoy.
