Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of our pupils is our highest priority at Bowmansgreen. We are committed to creating a safe, caring and supportive environment where every child feels secure and protected.
Where appropriate, we will always aim to discuss safeguarding concerns with parents and carers. We value positive relationships with families and work closely with them to support the safety and wellbeing of every pupil.
There may, however, be exceptional circumstances where we need to share concerns with Children’s Services, Health Services and/or the Police without informing parents or carers beforehand. This may be necessary where we believe that doing so could place a child at greater risk of harm, in accordance with Hertfordshire safeguarding and child protection procedures.
If you have a concern about the safety or welfare of a child, please contact our safeguarding team at safeguarding@bowmansgreen.herts.sch.uk. This inbox is monitored daily.
If you believe a child is at immediate risk of harm or in immediate danger, please contact the emergency services by calling 999.

The Children's Safeguarding Committee
Our Safeguarding Committee is made up of pupils from across the school who work closely with Mrs Fleming to help promote a safe, caring and positive environment for everyone.
The Committee plays an important role in representing the pupil voice. Members gather feedback from their classmates about how we can continue to improve safety and wellbeing across the school and provide a listening ear to pupils who may have concerns or worries.
They also recognise and celebrate members of our school community who help to make Bowmansgreen a welcoming, inclusive and positive place to be.
Through their work, our Safeguarding Committee helps pupils to play an active role in keeping our school community safe and supportive.
